Woolf are a Dutch folk pop trio of singers & instrumentalists Marieke
Smit, Mylène Berghs and Ellen Tackenkamp.
Originally based in Amsterdam, the band began performing in December 2016 after an intense period of writing and rehearsing and immediately attracted attention in The Netherlands when in spring 2017 they were asked by Dutch
singer-songwriter Celine Cairo to join her as support act on her album
release tour through the country.
Woolf was recognized right away as a band with great potential. “Especially the quality of their voices sounding together as one, and the high standard in songwriting made that you could hear a needle drop among the audience during the entire set. This band is ready for the larger stages,” LiveStreamMagazine wrote after a show at the Patronaat in Haarlem.
Woolf has been playing intimate venues and clubs since then, leaving audiences enthusiastic, while consistently building up a steady fan base.
In May 2017, the three women decided to join forces with musician and
producer Mats Voshol to record their first EP of four songs. In
Oktober 2017 their first single + video Again was released, soon followed by the other three; ‘It Wouldn’t Hurt’, ‘Too Close’ and ‘Flaws and All’.
In November 2017, the girls have recorded another set of three songs to be released in 2018.
Woolf will continue to play live shows and expand their recorded repertoire.
